Storforsen (Fauske)
(Bringslifossen)
Storforsen (also named Bringslifossen) is a nice waterfall near Bringsli (Fauske) in the region Nordland, Norway.
Storforsen is near Bodo and can be reached when driving from Bodo to Fauske on road Rv80. At Nordvik/Valnesfjordvatnet take the left turn to Bringsli. After/in Bringsli there is a left turn to Heimegård where the trailhead starts to Storforsen.
There is a small parking along the road before you turn left to the houses. Start walking west (behind the first houses). Keep following the trail up heading paralel to the river Leiråga. Soon you will reach Storfossen (at the left side). The walk is only 1 kilometer long with an ascend of 200 meter (20-25 minute walk).
Storfossen plunges down over 15-20 meter and best can be visited in summertime. In 1933 a private powerplant (kraftverk) was build at Bringsli. Nowadays you only can see the remains. I think from spring to autumn there is a quite consistent flow in the river Leiråga.
