Salto Do Prego

Salto Do Prego is a nice waterfall on the Island of Sao Miguel (Azores), Portugal.

The waterfall is located near Faial da Terra. From Povoação drive east in the direction of Agua Retorta (road EN1-1a). After 3.7 km take the exit to Faial da Terra. Drive to the village but go left when entering the village (at a busstop). Follow the road for after a few hundred meters (somewhere near gps 37.748431, -25.201680). 

From the car park it is a very nice walk upstream the river to Salto Do Prego. Soon the vegetation gets more dense and the road turns into a small dust road. The walk itself shouldn’t take long (20-30 minutes).

Salto Do Prego is a perfect spot to swim or to have a picnic.
