Salto do Andrea e Martin

Salto do Andrea e Martin is one of the tallerer waterfalls on the Island Sao Miguel (Azores), Portugal. The waterfall is located at the east side of the Island, near Pedreira/Nordeste.

When driving on road EN1-1a south of Pedreira/Nordeste take the exit to the lighthouse (farol del Arnel). It is a small road and I strongly advise you to park the car at the parking and NOT go down. The road is very steep and I saw cars having big problems going up again!! I know for sure his tires are at the end of its life. But when parking the car at the light house you directly can see Salto do Andrea e Martin at the right side.

The views are amazing and fisherman where fishing at sea, really great to see. Unfortunately there was no water in the river and Salto do Andrea e Martin wasn’t flowing. The last two weeks it was dry on Sao Miguel. Best time to visit Salto do Andrea e Martin is after a long rainy period!!!

The waterfall has also another name: Cascata da Ponta do Arnel.
