Kranz wasserfall

The Kranz wasserfall is an unknown but pretty nice waterfall and is easy to reach. From a height of 50 meter the Seelahnerbach cascades down in an astonishing surrounding. The Kranz wasserfall is located in Achenkirch (Achensee) in the region Tirol, Austria.

When driving from Maurach to Achenkirch there is a parking at the right side of the main road 181, just after the exit to Achenkirch (gps 47.509016, 11.708316). Parking is for free and you just have to follow the path. The path goes slightly up and at the bridge, go left, cross the bridge and directly go right. The path is marked with yellow signs “wasserfall”. After 10-15 minutes you will reach the base of the Kranz wasserfall.

This is a perfect short walk for children along a tiny river, through the woods and a playground with water and rocks at the end, There is a bench where you can sit, picnic and enjoy the view.

In the summer of 2024 I was surprised to see there was a second waterfall of the Kranz wasserfall. Two waterfalls joins each other in a beautiful setting was is quite unique. It was late in the afternoon and the sun was shining softly on the waterfall, really nice to see. I took my time to shoot some gorgeous pictures.
I think I spend over 30 minutes enjoying the scene and taking pictures of these gorgeous waterfalls. The water flow of the river Seelahnerbach wasn’t very high but this makes that you can see the shapes and colors of the rocks very good.

In Achenkirch there is another nice waterfall that is easy to reach and is also very beautiful, the Stod wasserfall.
