Cyfyng falls

The Cyfyng falls are quite unknown although they are located along the main road between Betwys y Coed and Bethesda (road A5) in Wales (UK). 

You have to know where to look because you don’t have a clear look at the Cyfyng falls when driving your car. There is a small parking near the bridge at Pont Cyfyng (gps 53.09661, -3.89126). You are standing right above the rapid/waterfall with a descend of appr. 4 meter. When we visited the waterfall, July 2023, the river Afon Llugwy  was quite powerful and is was a spectacle to see. You can make great pictures from the bridge and walk over it, but at the other side you don’t have great views.

It is not the height that makes this waterfall nice to see but the power of the water and the scenery. Ans why not stop to take a good look when you are driving on road 5 at Pont Cyfyng!
