Cascade du Dar
(Grand cascade du Dar, Cascade du Dar I&II)
Cascade du Dar is an unknown waterfall near Les Diablerets in the region Vaud, Switzerland.
From Ormont-Dessus it is a short drive to Les Diablerets which is also a nice wintersport region! Lang ago this is one of the best wintersport holidays I had.
In Les Diablerets drive further on road to Gsteig and Gstaad. Just before Col du Pillon there is a small parking at the left side of the road (gps 46.347321,7.200182).
There is a trail, from the roadside at the parking, going directly to Cascade du Dar and the via Ferrata at Cascade du Dar. I can’t remember the walk anymore (in 1999) but it is approximately a simple 800 meter walk (10-15 minutes).
Cascade du Dar is nice waterfall, especially in the early summer or late spring when the hillsides are covered with flowers. It isn’t a mighty waterfall but the surrounding and the shape of this waterfalls makes it worthwhile to visit. The waterfall has a lower part which can be viewed very well and an upper part.
