Abbachfall
The Abbachfall is a nice waterfall near Grindelwald in the region Berner Oberland, Switzerland. The water of the river Abbach drops down in two stages over appr. 30 meter.
From Interlaken drive to Grindelwald and park your car somewhere near the train station (gps 46.625688, 8.030164). You have to pay for parking in Grindelwald. It is possible to walk from Grindelwald to the Abbachfall in 60 minutes (2,8 kilometer), with an ascent of approximately 220 meter.
It is also possible to drive closer to the waterfall, but the last part of the road (Bussalpstrasse) is prohibited for normal traffic. You can park your car at the sign “prohibited for cars” (gps 46.634549, 8.017175). There are yellow signs pointing to the Abbachfall. From the roadside walk to the waterfall in 10-15 minutes. Just follow the road until you reach the river Abbach.
In the valley next to Grindelwald you can find several great waterfalls (near Lauterbrunnen). The most famous ones are the Trümmelbachfälle and the gorgeous Staubbachfall, a must to visit.
