Cascade de Berard

Cascade de Berard is a powerful waterfall south of Vallorcine in the region Rhone Alpes/Haute Savoie, France.

From Chamonix it is a 15 kilometer drive (20 minutes). In Chamonix (road D1506) follow the signs Argentiere and Vallorcine. Before entering Vallorcine take the exit left (small sign) to le Couteray. Follow the road and keep left until there is a parking (gps 46.021966, 6.916829).

From the car park a trail starts heading south to the river Berard. Cross the river and go right, walking paralel to the river. The signed path will lead to a viewpoint on Cascade de Berard. It is a nice and easy walk to cascade de Berard. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes (1 kilometer).

I visited Cascade de Berard long ago but the waterfall impressed me. The power and the possibility to walk behind the waterfall.
