Rjukandafoss (Ófeigsfjörður)

Rjúkandafoss is a waterfall in Northwest of Iceland, north of Holmavik. There isn’t much information available about this fall.

From Holmavik go north for 10 kilometers on the 61, then take road 643 to Djupavik and follow the road almost to the end. At Meladalur there is a dust road 649 to Eyri, but I am not sure if it is suitable for all kind of cars. From Eyri you have to follow the fjord before reaching the river Rjúkandi and another waterfall Hvalarfoss. From here you have to follow the river upstream for 3,5 kilometer. There is no official trail.

In total it is about 21 kilometers of road. A day trip by foot is also possible.
