Cascada Balea

Cascada Bâlea is one of the biggest and one of the nicest waterfalls in Romania. With a total height of more then 60 meter in the shape of a fan, a must to visit. Many people does visit the area and the glacier lake Balea, up at the waterfall.

Cascada Bâlea is located in the mountains of Munții_Făgărașului in the southern parts of the Carpathian Mountains.

The waterfall Cascada Bâlea isn’t very far from Sibiu located. When driving from Sibiu to Brasov take road 7c-Transfăgărășan (appr halfway) to Cârţişoara and proceed to the cable station Telecabina Balea Cascada. From here the waterfall is already visible in the distance, but it is a 50 minute walk to the bottom of the waterfall. Follow the red dotted trail.
